Starting Anew

I briefly reviewed my archives and if I'm not mistaken, January 2007 is the first month since my blog started that didn't have any archive posts.

Grrr. Bad blogger.

I got to work a bit earlier than usual, a few minutes past 9am. It only took my around 45 minutes to get to the office from home! :D

Surprisingly, today was not what I expected it to be -- it seemed like one of those Mondays way back in 2005. No bosses, no foreigners, no visitors. And that only meant one thing: Monday -- is DotA day. Sweet.

No work also meant not having any excuse to NOT post.

To begin my.. mmm.. preparations for my comeback post, I open my online feed readers -- 244 unread posts says Bloglines! Google Reader just indicated it as 100+.. *whew*

Seeing that I had a LOT of catching-up to do, I first drafted an outline of what I would like to post about. It seemed a bit long. I decided to go ahead with the catching-up.

After I finished going through my blog roll, it was time to post something already, before I proceed with the --lemme see-- *gasp* 400+ link spam from my officemates.

I open up my Blogger account, after a looong time, and I still see the link where you could migrate your old Blogger account to the new version. A couple of months ago, I kept trying to migrate, but Blogger won't let me, saying that my blog had features that still weren't available for the Beta version. But I still tried to migrate, every time I saw the link, hoping that, well, I could. And today, I did not get any warning. I am actually eligible to migrate to the new Blogger. I stopped for a moment to process the fact. I looked around the page -- the Blogger Beta logo had the word "Beta" crossed-out! Yey! :p

I went through the steps, which were actually quite trivial, since I already have a Google Account, and I arrive at my Blogger Dashboard. There, I suddenly stopped again. I saw the blog that I reserved way back in May 2005 that I intended to transfer to, after a whole year with this blog. I didn't really intend For the Mail! to last this long. I even remember someone telling me that it would be cool if I kept using For the Mail!, even if it has out-lived its purpose.

Now, I have decided to move to a new blog.

Back Again

After a long break from blogging, I suddenly get another break from, well, almost everything.

Had the flu, and was stuck at home for almost a week!

It was fun, that I didn't have to go to work -- that I didn't have to worry about work. I was amused that I wasn't called by the big boss. :p

Anyway, lots of catch-up work for me..

Today's Holiday

It's Noel Singidas Day, once again!

I looked up my blog archives and I didn't find a 2005 greeting.. Sucks.

And I forgot to get a pic again (as in 2004)!

..of nights at the office.

I try to remember..

Just this past Saturday, Kei and I -- and Fred and Sarah and Kaye and Jeff -- finally got to watch a movie in the Globe Platinum Cinema at the Gateway Mall. And, of course, we didn't just watch any movie. We watched Happy Feet! Me like! (You can go read movie reviews elsewhere.. I'm pretty sure, there are lots going around.. :p) Also, afterwards, Kaye finally got her Gonuts Donuts! :D

For the first time ever, I have a Christmas list! It's a short list so most of those I know shouldn't expect anything. :p It adds to the surprise, too. :D

What I really want to have now is a budget. Since I don't have one, I keep forgetting for what purpose I save the money I have, and I, of course, use it for something else. A lot of people have the same problem I have, and I guess the problem boils down to discipline in managing money. That I didn't have much of before. Fortunately, I've gained much of it now, and I can say that I've become more responsible when it comes to money matters. For example, I don't fall behind of the deadlines of the expenses I have to cover at home anymore. But, once in a while, I just suddenly feel like splurging. When such a time comes, before I realize it, it's still one week before the next pay day, and all I have is enough for my bus/jeep fare to go to work for a week.

Bah. I'm sleepy already.

Point is I will start maintaining a spreadsheet or something to monitor my income and expenses. And I suddenly recall Google Docs and Spreadsheets!

During my blogging hiatus, I've installed two new mobile applications, both by Google. G-Mail for Mobile Phones, and Google Maps Mobile! Also, they've announced a web transcoder that automatically strips complex websites into a form that works for small displays.

So, I'm here at the office, quite late at night, and I finally just finish the last urgent task I was given.

What do I do?

Check out ALL the freakin' links that my officemates passed around the entire week!

Long time-no blog, once again.

But, heck, a new task just came.

And, pardon the online quizzes.

Lots of things have happened in the last couple of months. My last post was less than a month ago, but what counts is the content of the posts. And that's what's missing in my last several posts.

Lots of BORING work. That's all I'm going to say about that.

Just came back from Oracle Developers Day. The first half of it. Had to get back to work immediately, the boss says.

At least, I got to see Kei for a while. Lots of food, yey!

Damn. Back to work. Again.

So much for my temporary freedom.

The Generation 1 Transformers Test

77 Allegiance, 15 Power, 26 Aggression, 82 Intelligence

You're the closest thing to a hippie amongst the Autobots... you're Beachcomber! You'd rather go for long drives on the beach or in the mountains than face combat. Unfortunately, you're an incredibly talented scientist, which means that the Autobots genuinely need your help. While you may be a "laid back" kind of guy, you're always willing to pitch in and help, even if you'd rather not actually have to hurt anyone.

Weapons: None
Transformation: Dune buggy

My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

The Slow Dancer
Deliberate Gentle Love Dreamer (DGLDm)

Steady, reliable, and cradling her tenderly. Take a deep breath, and let it out real are The Slow Dancer.

Your focus is love, not sex, and for your age, you have average experience. But you're a great, thoughtful guy, and your love life improves every year. There's also a powerful elimination process working in your favor: most Playboy types get stuck raising unwanted kids before you even begin settling down. The women left over will be hot and yours. Your ideal woman is someone intimate, intelligent, and very supportive.

Your exact opposite:
The Hornivore

Random Brutal Sex Master
While you're not exactly the life of the party, you do thrive in small groups of smart people. Your circle of friends is extra tight and it's HIGHLY likely they're just like you. You appreciate symmetry in relationships.

ALWAYS AVOID: The Battleaxe

CONSIDER: The Maid of Honor or The Sonnet
